Working paper on "Rawls's Religion and Justice"

David A. Reidy (University of Tennessee) has written an interesting paper on Rawls's religion and justice (May 1, 2009). It is a fine supplement to the new book by John Rawls "A Brief Inquiry Into the Meaning of Sin & Faith" (written in 1942), presented in my post May 12.

Reidy discusses Rawls's religious commitments as they developed over the course of his life and how attending to those commitments can inform and deepen our understanding of, and ability critically to evaluate, his political philosophy.

The paper is based on research undertaken at Pusey Library at Harvard University where Rawls’s papers and annotated books are archived.
